Common questions
Does root canal treatment hurt?
It's done under local anaesthesia, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. Mild soreness for a day or two afterwards is normal and settles with the medicine prescribed.
How much will my treatment cost?
It depends on what the check-up shows. The doctor tells you the cost of each option before starting, and you're free to take time to decide. See Fees & procedures.
How long do veneers take?
Minimally invasive veneers can often be completed in about 2 days, over 2 visits. The doctor will check whether veneers suit your teeth at the first visit.
Braces or clear aligners: which is better for me?
Both straighten teeth. Aligners are nearly invisible and removable; braces suit a wider range of cases. The doctor will tell you which works for your teeth. See Braces & clear aligners.
When should my child first see a dentist?
By their first birthday, or when the first tooth appears. Early visits help children get comfortable and catch cavities in milk teeth early.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe toothache, swelling in the face or gums, a broken or knocked-out tooth, or bleeding that won't stop. Call us and we'll try to see you the same day.
